About The-Gift-Wizard.com 

Greetings!  A big thanks to you for visiting our new website!  Hi, my name is Alison and I'm the creator and "Chief Gift Researcher" at The-Gift-Wizard.com.  Our site launched in November 2004, but the vision for it was being developed long before I ever knew what the internet was!  (No comments about my age, OK?)

Even as a teenager, people were often commenting, "Alison, you always know exactly the right gift to give."  I didn't think it was a big deal - I just enjoyed choosing gifts for others.  I've always been the kind of person that enjoys the giving as much (or more than) the receiving.  For me it was all about the look on their face... the "thank you", the "wow, I can really use this", or the "I've always wanted one... how did you know?"

Gift giving is kind of like playing detective for me.  A few subtle questions here, some keen observation there, a little research later and... voila!  The perfect gift!  Sometimes, like with my kids, it's easy... "Mom, I want THIS for my birthday!"  Then all I have to do is remember.  :)  But there are always people who either have everything, or want nothing, or don't care.  Those are the toughies, but I accept them as challenges!  The key to meeting those challenges is found within each recipient (as we have tried to convey in our Help with Gifts page).

As you can see, I turned my passion for that challenge... my knack for finding the "perfect gift"... into a website to help others who might struggle with choosing gifts.  (Find out more about how I did this, and how you can, too.)  If we've been able to help just one person, then I consider our site a success.  Whether or not our site has helped you in your gift search, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to try.
