Music was a big part of my life when I was in university. It would have been really cool to have an MP3 player/IPOD back then - but they didn't exist yet - no age comments, please. :) I listened to music a lot when I studied or was just chilling out.

So I suggest an MP3 player if she doesn't have one. Even if she does, she may want an upgraded one - they are always improving them. The price range is $20 and up. You could also consider an MP3 cell phone, iPhone, Blackberry Storm, or similar. Many of them include calendars and organizers - something else I could have used when I was in school. :)
