Thank You Gift for Mechanic
by Jessica
I bought a car that blew its engine 3 months later. I was referred to a mechanic who has outdone himself. The repair bill was too much and I was to be without a car. He traded his car (same model, different year) for my car. It is a miracle and a blessing. What cool gift can I give to him and his crew for their good deed? They don't know me and they have gone above and beyond what the average auto repair shop would offer.
Hi Jessica,
Looks like you've been fortunate enough to find a quality, trust-worthy mechanic. My family and I just bought a used car a couple weeks ago, and we're crossing our fingers. :)
I'm trying to think of something that would be appropriate for a group of people, since you're wanting to give to the whole crew. It depends on your budget, of course. If you have a lottery in your state, you could consider $20 worth of lottery tickets or some scratch cards.
To go a little more expensive would be some movie theatre gift certificates... they are easy to distribute between them. I'd say that even a case of beer and a few steaks would be received well.
With mechanics, they probably don't need tools of any kind, but you know that they like them. So you could pick out a pocket knife or multi-tool for each of them. Or even an LED flashlight. My 16 year old is a car buff and mechanic's apprentice, and he LOVES any kind of gadget tool or cool flashlight.
I'm sure they're not expecting anything from you, so just the sentiment will be enough to surprise them.
Good luck in your gift search, and I hope you don't need a mechanic any time soon!
Hope this helped,
Alison
